The Group started in 1979 when founder Datuk Beh Kim Ling (currently Executive Chairman of the Group) set up a plastic injection business in Singapore to manufacture cassettes and video tape components. In 1982, the entire operation in Singapore was relocated to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and was undertaken by VS Industry Sdn Bhd. Over the years, the Group’s business expanded its operations to include products and services in the higher value-added chain such as plastic finishes, PVC labelling, and electronic assemblies using advanced auto insertion and surface mounting technology.
Today, the Group is a leading one-stop integrated Electronic Manufacturing Services (“EMS”) provider with more than 30 years of experience, employing a workforce of more than 12,000 workers in facilities located in Malaysia, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. The Group’s customer base includes renowned clients from Europe, Japan and the USA.
